		<description>There&#039;s actually only 2 posts from 2009 there -- the rest date as far back as 2005, making it essentially an &#039;all time Top Ten list&#039; (as of today&#039;s date).

Perhaps you should add some kind of ratings system for posts... There are some WordPress plugins that do just that, like:

Again, these are rated for the lifetime of the blog, not per annum. For yearly &quot;best of&quot; I&#039;d suggest letting the people have their say. Maybe everyone on your newsletter subscriber list can cast 1 or 2 votes according to category... Or &quot;top commentators&quot; get more weight in their vote?
