I’m sorry, but I can’t stand that “eternal victim” mindset that passes for dropping knowledge in a lot of so-called conscious rap. Come on, NBA are a bunch of million dollar slaves? Boo-hoo, cry me a river Nas. Too many black kids are being sold defeatism as actual ideology.

Not a knock on your blog, by the way, you do awesome work here.

    T. are u kidding me! there is so much internalized racism that blacks have againsts themselves (think hair straightening and not even trying to apply to college) and thats perpetrated in the media we don’t even have get into defeatism…Nas did it up! I wasn’t a hard core fan, now I am because Nas said, enough is enough. I’m gonna use my celeb status to drop enough knowlege as I can.

Hey T, did u even listen to the whole album, to every song, the nuances and messages that Nas is trying to get across to Americans. Racism holds people back, and the semblance of equality has become a breaking point for a lot people who have excepted the truth of the matter, which is: Prisons are the new plantations, that blacks are being filed in to them single file, that the reason for this is mis- or no education in regards to finances, economics, and privilage, and why is this?
Because money is being pulled outta inner city school and into a war or unnecessary things. It is not happenstance that these this happen, they are calculated by the powers that be, and Nas is putting them on blast. Take another listen!

Nas is not boo hoo…he’s I’ll show u! aka He is showing us the way we can express ourselves as black people truthfully, that it has got to the point where things HAVE to be said, and sends a message that we are all connected (take another listen to ‘We’re not alone’ and the statement on love at the end)

You say eternal victim but fail to mention the “seasoning” aka wiping u till u excepted that u are a nigger now and not a human being and assimilation that took place for blacks to survive emotionally being called nigger every day of there life, how do u cope? you make it into something u can cope with, and that is why they use it, its not always eloquent but neither is Sopranos, also something negetive, white gangsters, killing people, and no one complains about that, in fact people loved it, i know i liked watching it. I think what u need T, is to go to a African/African American studies class, get some african american history with all the european/white american history u got in school. You will be blow away at what info the powers that be keep from us.

I agree with u in regards to NBA brats, but thats a sliver, a couple of black guys compared to the mass of black people struggling to make something of “i’m equal…ok…but then why dont i know how to buy my house, why am i renting it,
why do i never have enough money cause i have so many bills, and so on” cause his mama was workin and couldn’t teach him and the school definately didn’t care in the inner city.

I agree things are changing to a degree, but not fast enough for a lot of people living on new money when a lot of white people to be honest, are living on old money, or passed down ways to thrive as opposed to survive.

you say black kids are sold defeatism, I think black kids are sold internalized racism, to hate them selves – there passed down culture of loving and living with yr blackness (aka working with other black and believing that u can uplift one another from the ills of substance abuse, eating unhealthy, and so on). What they need is there history, and Nas is giving it too them one song at a time. Thank. you. NAS!

Two superpowers of the USA and Russia!
How you think who more strongly?
I have read on the Internet that opinions of analysts are divided half-and-half.
A part of experts consider that in America more modern arms.
Other part of analysts considers that russian army is more skilled. Who is right?

How you think when the economic crisis will end? I wish to make statistics of independent opinions!
