McP’s Irish Pub, Coronado: Navy SEAL Sniper Chris Kyle Knocks Out Jesse Ventura?

Believe it or not, I was watching Fox News the other night (I sometimes do for a few minutes just to see how idiot Americans think) and caught a clip of chickenhawk coward Bill O’Reilly interviewing Navy Seal Chris Kyle, who has something like 200 sniper kills. Great.

However, right at the beginning of the interview, O’Reilly starts talking about a section of the book that Chris Kyle is peddling where Kyle supossedly punched and dropped Former Governor, former Navy Seal and former Mongol, Jesse Ventura.

He also goes on to slander Ventura pretty bad when he says Ventura told him, “You deserved to lose a few (Navy Seals), over there.”

Keep in mind that O’Reilly has beef with Ventura and starts spazzing like a little girl with a brand new Barbie doll when Kyle recounts the story. Peep it:

Right off the bat, this story seems a little shaky.

Now, I know Coronado, I have been going there since I was a young pup. I know the place like the back of my hand.

My Godfather is a main gun there on the “in the shadows” tip. He once came out of the shadows for a brief period, and that is all I will say on the matter, as it would be easy to figure out his identity.

My 2nd best running partners grandfather is a Coronado legend. And worldwide legend. And that is all I will say on that as well.

Suffice to say, I know Coronado, California and some of my earliest memories as a child were visiting my Godfather, The Hotel Del and the beach there.

Initially, I wouldn’t deny that this happened, but in Coronado, if there is a fight (or any type of crime) trust me on this one, police will be involved. (California is a Police State now after all.)

Here is Venturas response to the accusations:

Exclusive: Jesse Ventura Demands Fox Retraction for Sniper’s Lies 1/3

Here are a few more of my thoughts after listening to Ventura’s side of the story:

1. Basically, what the guy describes is sucker punching an older guy and running. Not really brag worthy.

2. He slanders Ventura pretty bad. I know Ventura is anti-war (like pretty much everyone I know who served in a war), but it seems completely out of character that he would say that “you deserve to lose a few men”.

3. In the age of cell phone cameras and TMZ, and everything else weesh that our modern day society has cooked up, it is hard to think this wasn’t captured by someone. Or in the news. Especially in Coronado.

4. I am pretty good at reading people, I have had to be in my line of work, and from Ventura’s voice, it doesn’t sound like he is lying. The younger cat gives off strange energy and body language. Maybe he just got back from Iraq, so maybe that is why. I would have to know more details, but if I had to bet money, the younger cat seems a little more shaky.

5. He is selling a book.

Now, it just so happens that I went to Coronado today to drop off an “envelope” to my Godfather and listen to his infinite wisdom for a couple of hours. The first time I have been Coronado since December of last year.

So I decided to step into McP’s Irish Pub (the site of the alleged incident) and get a Guinness and one of their Reubens that I like (I have probably been here 10-15 times before in my life).

After asking around a little about this story, and talking with people I know (I keep friends in high and low places and have eyes and ears everywhere), I can say with 99.9% accuracy (I wasn’t there after all) that Chris Kyle’s story is completely false.

Side note:

I have the utmost respect for those who have served in the military. Almost all my family has. My Father has. My Godfather has. I support the troops 110%.

And trust me, Navy SEAL are cats that you don’t want to mess with.

I have some Navy SEAL brawl stories, some hilarious, that I might share down the road.

Having a lot of friends in The Fraternity, I can tell you that the guy is definitely not a Navy SEAL anymore if he’s going on national TV and bragging about being a SEAL lol

If you can publicly admit to your job in the SEALS, its probably not that impressive.

“He who talks much knows little.” sort of a thing.

More importantly – how do they pour a Guinness? I love Irish pubs, especially when they can pour a Guinness right.

Coronado, great place. Spent a few days there, at the Hotel Del, with the wife to get away from the kids. Tony Curtis was there that weekend, they just don’t make cats like that anymore. If you checked it out at Mc P’s at they called BS it must be. That place is a Navy stronghold.

The guy was a legit SEAL and is absolutely allowed to talk about it, write books, etc. There are dozens of books written by spec ops, seals, delta, etc. He’s not a fake, and if he did knock down Jesse the Body then he certainy has stones. I share MPM’s assesment, however, that something seems suspect about the knock down story. I think jesse’s politics can be extremely out there a la ted nugent sometimes, but the former governor’s face is straight granite. He was on seal team 1 when it was UDT aka underwater demolishions aka the first frogmen back in the day, and did all kinds of crazy shit without technology using big ass radios that look like microwaves. Without knowing either guy personally, and just by their television interviews, I would take ventura’s side 100 times out of 100.

    Wow.

I have a few problems with this article.

First off, denigrating a sect of the American population because you don’t understand them means you’re everything that you accuse them of being. You’re just the flip side of the coin.

Second, because you visited Coronado a bunch of times doesn’t mean you know what happened. And just because your Godfather is something doesn’t make you something. The point is, you weren’t there, so the 99.9% sure stuff doesn’t fly. You can’t intelligently say it did or didn’t happen.

And in reading people? That’s a laugh when you consider one is a former politician and one isn’t really accustomed to being in front of a camera in front of a national audience. Of course the guy not used to public speaking is going to appear “shaky”.

As far as Ventura being anti-war, he’s anti-Iraq-war. That’s a key distinction. And I’m not shocked that most people who have seen war that you know are anti-war. The people who have seen war that I know didn’t really mind it too much. I dare say, some may have almost enjoyed it. They put their training to use, they did their jobs. There are some who regret having to kill, but the killing itself didn’t bother them too much. In their minds they saved their buddies’ lives by killing. I mean seriously, as a fighting man in the military, you train to kill every single day. To be anti-war is like a boxer who trains every single day (or six days a week) to be a boxer, but is against boxing. What sense does that make? I’m pretty sure if you’re a killer in the military, and are against killing, that you’d find another vocation.

Now, the heat’s off of you. Trust me on this one. The heat’s on Chris Kyle. Whether it happened or not, I can’t intelligently debate. I wasn’t there. But if it did happen, that should’ve stayed between them. Period. There is such a thing as fraternity, and all of that should be kept internal. So you got the edge on a 60 year old man. You should have gotten the edge on him. But it shouldn’t be something you brag about. Sheesh.

Have to say, I’ve never taken Jesse Ventura all that seriously…. Rather enjoyed his brand of ‘entertainment’ throughout his career(wrestling, film, politics, etc.) but that’s the length and breadth of my appreciation for him. He’s expressed his views and I’ve certainly never agreed with all of them – wherein we all agree, no one does much thinking(and at the risk of being a fence-sitter, my jury is still out on the whole 9/11-Twin-tower thing. Think something funky happened there and throughout that day. I mean buildings falling into their own foot-print? Hmmmm – a lot of people have a lot to say about it but most seem to mumble or ramble. Pods on planes? Uff-da.. Don’t get me started). But Jesse served his country and I served mine(Canadian Armed Forces – not-the-SEALS) and as Charlie said, it’s a fraternity; a brotherhood – and like Las Vegas – what happens in Vegas – Stays in Vegas. No less so(in my experience) in a ‘fraternity’ or ‘brotherhood’ or a Regiment for that matter. As Charlie alluded to – a team-mate keeps it in the family(brotherhood, unit etc.). And for Chris Kyle to be seemingly happy(smug?) while admitting to knocking down a team-mate and a sixty year old, two term senior government official seems to be a dubious honour to allocute to, especially on national TV and several years after the ‘fact’. I’ve heard since that Bill O’Reily has actually tracked down the two other guys that were supposedly with Chris Kyle that night. Haven’t heard Fox news or any other news outlet, trumpet this new corroborating and supporting testimony… After watching Chris Kyle’s interview with O’Reily, I just don’t care for the look he has on his face while talking about it… Not something I would hold my head up high about and broadcast to the world(that I’d just decked an older and much more respected team-mate. Like maybe an RSM or another senior grade of Warrant officer). See, thing is; sometime down the road – those tables just might be turned(God help ya) or another not-so senior team-mate and son of the Regiment takes exception to your actions(of having whomped a senior NCO) and him and a few others, decide to ‘set you straight’ on certain ‘elementary rules of the Regiment’. Might seem a little harsh to outsiders but that’s how brotherhoods, fraternities, regiments, etc work – the machinations and dispensations thereof – are kept in-house. In any instances of disclosure, inquiry – it goes beyond ‘clergy/doctor/patient/client privilege’ to *Omertà status( “a code or vow of absolute nondisclosure or silence within the ranks in the Mafia). Personally? If it did really happen, really think Chris Kyle should’ve kept very quiet about it. Far as I’m concerned, the onus is now very heavily upon Chris Kyle to prove his claim. Best of British luck to Chris Kyle

Chris Kyle produced witnesses that confirm he is telling the truth and who signed court affidavits under penalty of perjury. The story was out in the Navy community for years. It happened and Ventura deserved every bit of it.

The interview I heard with Ventura talks about McPartlin being the owner of the bar that supports Ventura, not this Moy person. So to the above poster that links something about him lying about Moy owning the bar, has been misled. I’m not surprised at all at that. Just another example of the media assassinating the character of a real honest person. People only read and pay attention to what agrees with their own personal beliefs, never mind the truth. Pathetic.

haha, “old squid” is just another of Kyle’s Youtube trolls with multiple accounts that go from video to video spamming the same tired old links. They all point to amateur blog articles that were written by (you guessed it) more Kyle trolls! Notice there are no articles from any major publications where they are required to do any fact checking, etc. If you want FACTS then read the court documents Kyle doesn’t want you to see. You can find them at http://www.scribd.com/doc/108450023/The-Court-Documents-Chris-Kyle-Doesn-t-Want-You-To-See

First off, there is a lot more to the story than Ventura mouthing off and Kyle punching him.

First, and foremost, SEALs believe that they are better than anyone else in the Navy. They consider all others in the Navy to be Squids. Members of the UDTs are NOT considered SEALs unless they have actually completed the SQTs and earned their Trident. And, no UDTs were grandfathered in after the merge of the UDTs and SEALs after the merge in 1983. In fact, there is an article on this point specifically. Jesse Ventura never completed the SQTs. Just like he never saw combat and never hunted another man. So, there is no reason that Kyle would consider him a “brother”. Other SEALs were his brothers.

Kyle and several squadmates, including Ryan Job (who is blind because of a combat wound), were at McP’s after the funeral of Mike Monsoor. Also there were members of Mike Monsoor’s family. Ventura was there because he was supposed to be a guest speaker at the BUD/S graduation.

Now, I mention Ryan Job because Job wanted to meet Ventura and asked Kyle to go over and see if Ventura would come over to their table. Kyle did, but Ventura blew Kyle off. Kyle then went and got Job and walked him over to Ventura, and Ventura acted like they were imposing on him. So they went back to their table.

It was only AFTER that had happened that Ventura started running his mouth. That is when Kyle went up to him and asked him to cool it since they (Kyle, his squaddies and Monsoor’s family) had just buried one of their own. And that is when Kyle claims that Ventura said “You deserve to lose a few”. What Kyle also says is that is when Ventura made a move as if to take a swing at Kyle. Kyle tried to talk Ventura down, but Ventura wouldn’t have it and that is went Ventura swung at Kyle first. And it was then that Kyle defended himself and cold-cocked Ventura.

Now, what I know about SEALs is that they don’t talk about scuffles between one another. Between themselves and other members of the military (aka those who aren’t SEALs) they talk openly about incidents.

Sorry, but I’ll believe Chris Kyle over Jesse Ventura because of Jesse’s history of lying about the truth.

Old Squid has it right, the community has known of this for years, as it happened few ago. A schoolmate of mine at the time was still in the teams and knew of my disdain for Ventura, so comes to class one day and tells me Ventura got dropped by a young Seal at Mc P’s. It was common knowledge for one, second it was not a brwal, but a one punch affair, so why would cops be involved. And Alpha, if you didn’t know Kyle was a Seal Sniper then you do not know much about the teams. Kyle never even named Ventura in the book, but now Ventura is suing Kyle’s widow. Also Ventura was never a Seal, he was a UDT member. The UdT’s and Seals were merged in 1983, so he allows the misrepresentation to garner fame and credibility. He should be on the wall of shame.
