A while back, I was talking with my little brother Nicholas Alfonso Mason, AKA The Jaguar about how it is time for the music industry to shove the next Eminem down America’s throats (I just doesn’t make financial sense not to).

Then someone emails me this new rapper Asher Roth, who it turns out people are calling the “Next Eminem”:

He does have some skills though:

ASHer Roth- The Reading (Produced by Nottz)

I am not sure about the “Next Eminem” thing. He sounds like the kid in every fraternity that can kind of flow after a chronic jay and a beer bong. Only better.

Which means there is no doubt he will probably be huge.

I have always been a fan of three Jewish kids from Brooklyn rapping, but not sure about “Suburban Rap” straight outta West Chester, PA. (Hell, I don’t even know where West Chester, PA is.)

“See, I’m a city slicker I ain’t no townie
Right now I wish I had another hash brownie”

But I don’t hate.

America will probably eat this up.

Just like they do Olive Garden.

However, I will continue to eat at Babbo, NYC.

This is more my Steez:

Car Thief – Beastie Boys

“I’m a writer a poet a genius I know it
I don’t buy cheeba I grow it
People always trying to get next to me
I had a beautiful experience on Ecstasy
Smoked up a bag of elephant tranquilizer
Because I had to deal with a money hungry miser
Had a caine filled Kool with my man Rush Rush
Saw my teeth fall in the sink when I started to brush
You be doing nose candy on the Bowie Coke Mirror
My girl asked for some but I pretended not to hear her”

I would say e-shy is the new eminem not asher roth… suburban rap will never fly worldwide and his silly boy record trying to diss people and talk hard is wack as hell…

would love to see an e-shy vs eminem battle or beef saga… would be entertaining and lyrical as all hell

asher roth doesnt deserve to be put in the same sentence as eminem, the best selling rap artist ever. em’s lyrics when he is serious is insane, but are also clever we he is sarcastic. eminem is hands down the greatest raper ever. now asher roth on the other hand is not. he has had one hit, peaking at 14 on the billboard 100. eminem has had over 10 songs go over 14, two becoming number one. roth’s suburb style of rap will not cut it. he is more pop than rap. what happened to days of biggie and pac? this new style of hip hop is bullshit and a disgrace to the genre. i do hope asher roth does fine, but people lets calm down. if roth hasnt knocked lil cry baby lil wayne off his throne as most popular rapper right now, what makes you think he can catch up to eminem, because eminem is miles ahead of lil wayne in terms of popularity.

so lets put the asher roth talk down for right now. the guys a scrub….

Not comparing him at all to Em. No one should be, but AsH s’ lyricism is sick he speaks truth and he brings a unique new voice coming from an untapped hip-hop source.. the burbs.
