Andrew Lindy: Travel Bum Show New York Pick Up Failures

“A champion is someone who gets up when he can’t.” – Jack Dempsey (Irish-American Heavyweight Champion of the World)

Anyone who reads The G Manifesto knows that I have an illustrious history of dissing things that are wack non-stop ie Bottle Service, Ed Hardy, Hipsters, Douchebags (never really been my language to use that term) etc etc etc. I don’t pull my punches. I get rotation on my punches and extend them.

And, I do prop things out when they are dope. Bottom line, I am not afraid to go out on a limb and call it as I see it.

That all being said, I have to give props to Andrew Lindy the creator of The Travel Bum Show. I have posted on it before on the Travel Bum Show: The Cuba Prostitution Documentary.

The cat has taken some heat on the Internet for his work and has plenty of doubters and haters (not unlike your humble author).

This guy has mad talent and is meeting a monstrous need in today’s media landscape . And when I say “meeting a monstrous need”, I mean like a coke dealer meets a monstrous need of a Hollywood Hills Mansion after party with 20 fly girls and 4 guys in attendance at 2:30 am.

His work is basically a flame that burns within the soul of The Modern Day International Playboy: its a complex overture that delves into the psyche of the male mind; part dazzling fantasy, part demonic nightmare, part vibrant dream, part jagged reality and he mixes it and puts it in a pot like Gumbo.

Hell, he is bringing to fruition an idea I have had for many years in grand royal style that I lacked the aptitude for. My version would be a little more Drug ridden, Crime Ridden, Cigarette smoked out, Boozed out, more Street and with the machine gun sound of the speed bag and clicking of the money counter as the soundscape, but that is neither E-tab dreams nor triple beams.

(Sometimes I really do wish I was born with talent for the camera or video camera instead of talent for Smoking, Drinking, Swooping fly girls, and separating people from their money. But then again, you can’t have it all.)

He has a new video called New York Episode 1.5 – Fails, extras & pick-up tips, peep it below.

First off, anything that can hold my attention for 10 minutes is in and of itself, astonishing. But more than that, it is really entertaining. And I think young cats getting into “The Life” can learn a lot from it. Furthermore, he plays up the “player on a budget” angle, which we all know has mass appeal like Guru of Gangstarr (RIP) said.

This video is all about Pick Up Failures. Watching this reminds me of myself as a young prototype G on the rise on the beaches of Southern California.

I have said it before and I will say it again, no one, and I mean no one has gotten rejected by girls more than me.

In this video Andrew Lindy breaks down rejection. He has fun with it. Bottom line, you have to love rejection.

To the young cats reading this, it really does make you stronger. Hell, I get rejected still all the time, and guess what? It is the funniest thing to me. Especially since I know that any girl that rejects me is making the biggest mistake of her life.

Straight up, if you take yourself too seriously, and you can’t have fun when you are swooping fly girls, then The International Playboy Lifestyle is not for you.

Go look for another line of work.

There is plenty of room at the bottom.

  1. He has balls and is funny as fuck. Being that confident and cocky with Karolina Kurkova takes skill. He has seriously strong game (you can tell he does damage with civilian girls) and there is a lot to learn from him in the video. He’s got great vibe and humour but there are points in the video where girls visibly recoil when he flatters them. That’s the only point of criticism I can give him. It sounds like he doesn’t even realize how strong his game actually is. Props for sharing G.

    The guy has game.

With a few minor changes he could kill it.

All the girls seemed to be turned off whenever he’d compliment on their looks, especially the daytime? This seems to be in line with Roosh says.

Regardless, props to him. Solid game, and helluva lot better than what I could do.

Interesting video. The fails: too much “questions”, too little teasing. Too much rapport seeking, not enough breaking rapport / bursts of laughs / sexual undertones. In short, it should be easy to improve

realtalk the ONLY girls i was feelin in this were the apartment girl &Sekada..
(eatin towards the end) she didnt dress how i like but its NY so u gottta roll with the punches..
she gave him SO many openings.. almost literally.. any girl that talks to u when shes eatin, in the day, laughs at ur lame jokes &opens her legs THAT wide.. is tryna tell u sumthin.. she even established interest askin HIM questions.. &had built in repore with the fact she just left his home town..
which probly took him off guard, coz he flopped &flopped hard.. &she was right to duffle digit him coz that was a straight up lets get a coffee/vino segue into day lay gimme sitch

his initial approaches still reek of Giant Sized Grapefruit Balls tho.. so disappointed or not i cant hate on him, jus pray hes more focused in his efforts

Yooo but check out his successes. These were self-titled failures, so that was the point. Plus it’s all shits and giggles whether he succeeds or not. The fact that he “fails” isn’t a fail to me. It’s an experience. It’s a lesson. If you want to see the straight up successes then check out his other spots. YO that’s SUCCESS just to make a vid like this, balls deep. Keep on keeping on. I don’t wanna see him succeed every time because that wouldn’t be realistic, no matter what, even if you’re the best PUA in the world. He could easily edit out all the fails and just show you the successes, but he doesn’t. THIS IS REAL SHIT SON!

“Every clean right you land is a result of a few jabs that you missed or were blocked.”

One of the most powerful revelations I ever had was coming to terms with the fact that, no matter what I do, not every single woman I talk to is going to like me… So all I have to do is sift through those ones to find the ones that do. Sure makes it a lot easier on the soul knowing that if 30 women in a row blow by me down the street without stopping, the odds will certainly balance out soon after (probably the next day). Be Amazing,

Thanks for the link to the vid. He does have some editing skills, makes it very fun to watch indeed.

He does have game and to be honest if you can talk to strangers while holding a video camera on record, he must be pretty good without it. I’m sure there’s that extra pressure of the fact that he knows he’s being a little creepy with the cam.

Love the bike as well – didn’t realise they had black number plates in the states for old vehicles.

The guy’s got game. In my POW a bit too much focus on jokes, but I guess half of that accounts for the rejecting girls (most of them?) he just keeps playing with.

He truly captures the way model chicks interact in herds vs. alone. Alone they are often more vulnerable, “normal” and sometimes even sweet (enough to game and seduce). I tend to game model chicks who are dolo (while their bff does blow in the bathroom or looks for her iPhone on the dancefloor), 2 mins with them is enough to make a good introduction. Next time when I meet them out they’ll remember me and it’s much easier to strike up a conversation and start gaming them for real (unless I number crunch during the 1st meeting).

He would have a whole nother level of game if he could quit validating the chick’s lifestyles so much. He seems to be a good cold read- based on the captions he adds. Like when he asks “what are you doing here?” and she says “visiting grandparents.” He would DHV that he is always around models just by straight up asking, “so how did the casting go?”

Big fan, Michael, but allow me to vent here. I realize that this video is entitled “failures” but this cat lacks the social aptitude to run game in the Beverly Hills race track/mansion party/heist scene that you have locked down and I have just entered on the ground floor. Layer cake, my man.

Yeah, this guy has balls, but how about being 30+ and sleeping on a rooftop? Plus those pick-up lines were tired and many girls were questionable anyways. This kid is not much better in his other movies either. If he shaved, bought a suit, stopped sleeping in tents, tightened up his dialogue, associated with heavies, and actually pulled some decent women (hookers excluded), I might be more inclined to hear him out. I apologize for the negative remarks, it is not usually in my stylo to do so.

Hey everyone, and lucky luke 😉

After reading luke’s comment, I would suggest that the question for you papi is at what point does your coolness and confidence turn into hubris. Sounds to me like the kind of “man” or “lifestyle” you are selling here has totally lost contact with reality. With all due respect kid, does a guy like this really exist? He seems cooler than the GQ man and HE Isn’t even real.

Lindy does not strike me as someone who overestimates and jacks his status with glutamine, creatine and steroids; your ubercool hero does. Correct me if I am off fellow users but what luke considers to be “cool” frankly appears to me as forced and inauthentic; the total opposite of the travel bum’s particular nature and magnetic personality.

Based on all his videos, there are some serious love connections made and …Yah! there are girls out there who would want “luke’s man” but these chicks would equally fall for Andrew as well …and I’d be inclined to think that once they do, they’d last a longer time around him then lucky luke’s hypothetical man.

It’s easy to get girls, much harder to keep them around.

And another thing! Women are not attracted to money and suits… In other words: THEY DONT WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH PAPER BILLS AND BESPOKE GARMENTS ; they would definitely like it if it came with the package and ya a few girls would prefer it but in the end…20 min after your glamor shot, a woman wants a MAN!

Models or not, some of these woman are totally into Andrew and they are into him because of who he is. Like Stark said; when he “fails” or does not “win the girl over” it should be more about the experience and the reality rather than a binary success / fail checklist. That’s just the way the world works and he CAPTURES THAT!!!! Wooooow

A good friend of mine once said that we don’t connect in our coolness we connect in our brokenness.

You can’t be too cool with woman, they will call you out on it just to prove a point. (I worked and picked up a 12/10 supermodel-type who was working the coat check at a club and the first thing she told me on our first date was that during my pickup, she was reluctant to give out her
number and that the only reason she wrote it in the palm of my hand was because she sensed a brief momentary spill of anxiety and vulnerability in my coolness that night)

Ah! Keep it going baby… Your changing the world, one female at a time.

    Respecto

    @ Juicemode

Couldn’t agree more. This dude, Andrew Lindy, comes across as so genuine and unshakably confident about who he is even in his candid moments of saying he can’t pull with these girls in Cancun(another video).

I know the girls that I hang with would fall head over heels for him, his sincerity is genuinely cool and he’s got enough balls to do a pole dancing class on his own in a firemans hat!

The living in a tent is part of the gimmick of being ‘The Travel Bum’, I’m sure if he wanted to do he could leverage his photography credentials to start getting jobs all over the world that would cover proper hotel expenses but that’s not the spirit of the show.

Personally (and i love rocking suits when i do) I would rather live a lifestyle like Lindy than like big G and fo the reasons Juicemode laid out in his comment above.

    Peace
