New Years Eve: The Tale of Two Economies

New Years Eve: The Tale of Two Economies

“Every charitable act is a stepping stone toward heaven.” – Henry Ward Beecher.

People always seem to ask me, “What are you doing on New Years Eve?”

I have addressed this multiple times in the past:

What does a G do on the Holidays?

What Does a G do on New Years?

Hell, half the reason I write this site is so people wont waste my time with stupid questions.

But that is neither here nor there.

This year again, I skipped New Years Eve, and instead plotted and schemed while everyone else was partying.

I also like making moves when others are playing. And play when others are working.

On New Years Day, I woke up early, Entered The Dragon and Gave Back to The People in the form of food for the homeless.

On the Dolo Creep. Custom Suited Down, of course, Champion of The People Style.

The interesting thing was after hanging with the homeless for a few hours, on my way back home, I had to take a piss so I went into a decently fly boutique hotel near my crib.

The contrast was striking: People without a care, slapping on I-phones and I-pads like monkeys with no idea of the world around them.

I am not sure what this all means, but it did have an effect on me.

Giving back to The People always does.

It is a real soulful expeirence and I recommend it for all the younger G’s out there getting into “The Life”

Jewelry for Mom

Jewelry for Mom

Bogotá, Colombia –

One of the greatest aspects of living The International Playboy lifestyle is there are times when you have tons of excess liquid capital. (Side note I: Being an International Playboy is great work…if you can get it).

And the best thing to do with that excess liquid capital?

Buy Bottle Service and glittery Ed Hardy Shirts.

Just playing, the best thing to do is take a break from the frenetic nightlife of Zona Rosa and Parque 93 and is buy Jewelry for MOM. (And of course, Giving back to The People).

Since I so happen to be in Bogotá, Colombia, that jewelery is going to consist of Emeralds from the world famous Chivor Mine. (Side note II: It is easy to get ripped off if you don’t know Emeralds. Thankfully, I don’t happen to fall into that camp).

You should do the same. MOM deserves it.

Her smile and the joy that you bring her easily pays for itself.

What Does a G do on New Years?

» 11 January 2011 » In Food, G Manifesto, Guide, Style, Travel » 7 Comments

What Does a G do on New Years?

Excellent question.

I passed out at 10pm (probably my earliest night of the year). New Years to me is just an arbitrary day that has no more or less significance than any other day of the year and is probably the one night of the year you can guarantee I won’t go out (especially if I am in America). No need to see more glittery shirts and skinny jeans than normal.

So what did I do on New Year’s Day?

I woke up early, Entered The Dragon and Gave Back to The People.

(Again, I actually do this type of stuff periodically. I don’t talk about it much, because I am not looking for any “credit”, but I thought it would be a good idea to let the Younger G’s out there know how to get down.)

After helping out the homeless and the less fortunate I did some last minute errands to get ready for a trip – south of the border, which happens to be where I am at now.

Perfecto.

In other news, analysts at Deutsche Bank raised their view of Coeur d’Alene to buy from hold with a 12-month price target of $54 a share as they become more bullish about the stock amid rising silver and gold prices.

CDE finished up over 13% today.

Decent.

Old-School G Move Week: Give Back to The People

Old-School G Move Week: Give Back to The People

In the past we have done “Cigarette Week”: Dallas Winston: Strike Anywhere Match Move, A Classic: Double Cigarette Light Move and Cigarette Week: Guess who smokes?.

This week we will do “Old-School G Move Week”.

I always try to Give back to The People. From small, humble gestures around Christmas time, to handing out Turkeys to the less fortunate during Thanksgiving. And I always do these things Custom Suited Down while smoking grits. For Style points, of course.

Whenever you give back to The People, you should never expect anything in return. You should do it because it is the right thing to do.

If you give, without expecting anything in return, a curious thing happens: You become more G.

Every Pick Up Artist out there is always spouting the next new Game Theory or Technique on How to Pick up girls.

You want to know how to swoop girls on the real?

Give back.

It will help make you the best person you can be. And that person swoops mad fly girls.

“While you’ve been reading this three Haitians have died under heaped-up stone unrescued and an AIG executive has earned two hundred dollars for helping wreck the world economy, and he’ll earn three thousand more in the next hour while twenty more Haitians die.”

In light of the earthquake in Haiti, now is good time to start giving, if you haven’t already.

Great question. I am glad I asked it.

If you are me, you make a bunch of sandwiches, throw them in a backpack, head to the roughest neighborhood in city and hand them out to the homeless. Custom Suited Down, of course. Smoking street grits for maximum style points.

Giving back to The People. People’s Champ Style.

I actually do this type of stuff periodically. I don’t talk about it much, because I am not looking for any “credit”, but I thought it would be a good idea to let the Younger G’s out there know how to get down.

Always give back to the less fortunate.
